Makeup Do's & Don'ts

Makeup Don'ts: 

Here are some makeup don'ts to start us off.  Make sure you aren't making these same mistakes! My critiques I am giving do not reflect what I think or feel about the celebrities I am using for this post.

Make sure when you apply your foundation you really work it in

so its not blotchy.  Also make sure the lipstick you are choosing

to wear goes well with your skin tone and ALWAYS

blend your eyeshadow well so you don't

get harsh lines.

When filling in your eyebrows make sure they aren't too harsh.

This picture is a good example of how not to fill them in.

If you have a more round face shape then you want 

your eyebrows to be more square. That way it will balance 

out the round shape. If you have a square face shape you 

want your eyebrows to be more round, again that 

will balance out the square shape. 

Make sure you don't go too far in with them either.

Blend Blend Blend Blend! 

Blend your eyeshadow! Say no to harsh lines!

Ok when applying blush or bronzer don't use too much and don't

 go that close to the nose with it. I know I've said this way too 

many times in this post but blend it in well! Really work 

it out to make sure it doesn't look

like you have way to much on.

I bet you can figure out what is wrong with this makeup look with

out me even saying anything about it. Here is a case of basically

no eyebrows.  Do not pluck your eyebrows too thin. That 

was a 90's thing and does not look good now. And of course

blend your eyeshadow and blush!

Makeup Do's:

Now lets move on to some makeup do's! I have a few

great examples!

I don't even no where to begin. I LOVE this makeup look. 

Its so pretty and natural.  This is perfect for spring/summer.

Everything is blended and applied so nicely. This is a

great example of a makeup do! 

And Taylor Swift does it again! She always has such pretty

makeup.  Again this would be a great 

spring/summer look.

I think this would look good on anyone

and everyone. Great classic summer image!

A nude lip and warm colored blush

never goes wrong.

Of course Adele's Grammy look this year was

the bomb. So so gorgeous! 

 Anyone and everyone can pull this off.

Again this would be perfect for spring

and summer.  The light pink lips

and blush is perfect for the 

summer season.

You can never go wrong with a beautiful smokey 

eye (that is blended well) a nice nude lip and a warm cheek.

 This is definitely a makeup do!

Ok so this is so great!  Now you can see what types of 

colors work well with your skin tone!

 not sure which you have.

And the of course here is an actual skin tone chart if you're

 not sure what type of skin tone you have.

Now you can choose lipsticks that will work well with your skin tone. 

But don't limit yourself! If you have lipstick(s)

 that you love and you feel good in then 

wear it and be confident!

Beautiful Vibrant Colors!

Have you heard the buzz about Lime Crime?  They have tons and tons of bright colors for your eyes and lips! Just look at these fun lipstick colors!

I cant wait to try them all out!!!  They also have an eyeshadow

 Kind of a whimsical feel to this palette.

Products I use and LOVE

Ok so lets talk about some of my favorite products that I use daily. First TIGI Catwalk Dry Shampoo. It's so so amazing! 

I don't know what I ever did without it!

When you spray it in it doesn't leave a bunch of white powder on

your roots and it doesn't make your hair stiff. When you spray it on, you look like you washed your hair that day, it soaks up any grease you have AND it smells delicious. haha. I love it so much.

My next most used/favorite product is the Makeup Forever HD Foundation.I mentioned this little gem in my first post I know, I know. But I cant stop raving about it! 

Really though when you put this on it feels like you didn't put anything on your face. You don't feel like you have all this base caked on your skin and your skin feels like it can breath. You don't have to use a lot of it either. It easily covers up red areas on the skin and blemishes no problem. This foundation lasts for a considerable amount of time too.  I've had the same foundation for 5 months and I'm still not out of it yet. This foundation was totally worth the money!

I am totally, completely in LOVE  with Urban Decays Naked Eye Palette. I have been using this palette almost every day since I got it. I got this baby last October. 
Its been 5 months that

I've had it and its not even 
close to being 
gone yet. 

LOOK AT THE COLORS!!! The pigments are beautiful and you can create so many different looks with just this one palette its in credible! It also comes with a great eye primer so the eyeshadow will last all day. I love it, I can't say enough good about this palette. This was one of the best purchases I've ever made hands down!

First Blog & First Post!


I am really excited to blog about makeup and give you guys makeup tips! I love makeup and I love giving makeovers. Its so fun to make someone feel pretty and feel happy about how they look. It's so rewarding for me! I hope that I can give good tips and good tutorials on applying makeup and achieving the look you want!  If there is a certain look you'd like me to give a tutorial on or if there is a celebrity look you'd like me to do, please feel free to request it! I hope my blog is helpful for you!  Here are just a few tips I have for looking your very best:

• First: You've got to have a good foundation. That is the very first step to having well applied makeup.  My favorite foundation is Makeup Forever HD.  This foundation is AMAZING.  Its super light and a lot goes a long way, so you don't have to use a bunch to cover up red areas on the skin or blemishes. When you apply it, it feels like you don't have anything on your face. Its great! It lasts for several months as well so its worth the purchase! 

• Second: You need to have nice makeup brushes.  When you apply your makeup, nice brushes really make a difference.  I use Crown Brushes they are affordable and are high quality.

• Third: Ladies make sure you pluck and trim your eyebrows and also fill them in!!! This makes a world of a difference! 

• Fourth: Apply a nice blush to your cheeks. This will give color to your face. 

• Fifth: Curl your eyelashes!!! And apply some mascara. I like to use L'oreal Double Extend its cheap and it works awesome. 

• Sixth: Last but not least, make sure to apply some lipstick or a nice lipgloss! I like wearing a nice nude color or a creamy pink day to day, but sometimes I'll spice it up with a red lip. It all depends on your mood!
